Visit to Mont-Saint Michel Abby today, a one-and-a-half hour drive to the coast from Flers. This place is an incredible feat, the entire thing built of stone sitting atop a huge rock island. We were there at low tide, so could see the surrounding tidal rivers, quick sand and tussocks changing into agriculture and stretching to the horizon. Its beginnings can be traced back to the year 708, home to the Benedictines for several centuries, then a prison, and now a World Heritage UNESCO site. Touristy but very worth the visit.

These photos are wonderful Weekie. It was dreamy having you as a housemate again, if even for just a few days. Thank you so much coming to our frenchie framhouse and, of course, for all you did. Were it not for you, there would be no summer and winter adorning our wall, my voice would have cracked in front of everyone, and we certainly would have been buried in dirty dishes. You were an immense help, in both body and spirit. Merci beaucoup and bonne chance!
