I made it!

It was a long journey, but after close to 24 hours of travel I arrived at my dear friend Anne's house in Flers, France. Had an extra surprise flight thrown in, a brief stop in Philly before finally lifting off for Paris...I was amazed to get on the plane and instantly be surrounded by French speakers. Where were all these people hiding? What were they doing in the U.S.? Turns out the guy next to me was working in Delaware, as a physicist that searches for the origination of the universe. He helped me figure out the metro transfers to get me through Paris to the regional train, so was able to avoid the more pricey bus trip. Thank goodness for friendly locals.

Anne and Marco's little farmstead is probably exactly as you would picture it if you were to picture the French countryside...a stone building nestled into a hillside, several outbuildings, two fireplaces, exposed timbers, a windy little staircase. It's lovely. Pics will come later once I figure out how to post them using Anne's computer. Most of them will probably feature Jose, he is so smiley and happy. Looking forward to settling in for a few days and enjoying the company of good friends...

  2. Sarah, Good job on the packing! I am thankful for your blog, so I can get a glimpse of what you're seeing and doing! The pics are fabulous, what a world we live in!
The desert is staring it's spring bloom. Word is it will be a SPECTACULAR year in the desert! I paddled the Verde RIver south of Flag yesterday. Very beautiful and saw some amazing ruins up one of the washes. I am sure you aren't watching movies, but "Between the Folds" about Origami would be perfect if you were...XOXO Joyce
